How much can products “Made in China” be trusted and used for the sake of life span?

Because the CDs in China are so cheap, you can back it up twice. Some years ago, people do not trust anything from Taiwan too. But now how many of you the mother board is not made from Taiwan. LiteOn, one of the few ones CDburner which can burn SD2.5, is also a Taiwanese company too. Time will tell.
