BEIJING, Jan. 16 – The label “Made in China” is world renowned but a new generation are seeking to make “designed and created in China” equally familiar. The field of internet gaming has seen an increase in domestic development in recent years.
In 2008, thirty three internet games developed by domestic companies were sold in overseas markets. Sales income was in excess of 70 million US dollars, nearly thirty percent higher than 2007. The figures were revealed at the China Internet Game Industry Yearly Meeting, which opened on Wednesday. The industry is no longer dominated by games developed overseas. Speakers at the meeting called for more financial support for research and development of internet gaming in China.
