good to see some much-needed competition in the video disc market. It probably won’t get far without hollywood (and japanese hardware) support tho. The real war will come when they are deciding on recording formats to finally replace VHS tho, IMO. It’s hard to ignore DVD’s popularity as a playback format (and as a recording format for PCs with recent price drops), and I don’t see this changing anytime soon.
