I use two power supplies in my system. One 450 watt from pc power and cooling and a 350 watt AT power supply. I have a harddrive on primary master that is powered by the 350. When I do not power up the 350 watt supply, the secondary master boots Linux SuSe. When I power up both supplies, I boot WinXP Professional. I have harddrives on my onboard raid array and on Promise ATA100 cards. My eventual goal is to power 12 harddrives, and 4 cd/dvd drives. My only problem now is finding ATA100 cables that are long enough to reach the drives with two attached. Does anybody know where I could get x-tra long ATA100 cables?

try this site for long ata cables

www.tweakers.net

look for the buyers zone
or try this;

http://www.tweakers.net/pricewatch/cat/72

(bought mine there for my big tower)

Thanks Mr Dimitri,
I used pricewatch and found a site that had very long cables with an added connector in the middle for difficult installations.

Thanks for the information…got me on the right track.

LOL…that’s not really the way to post image. Read this info to show you complete vB codes on how to edit your messages and post pics. You need to find a space somewhere in the web, not your hdd.

I dont have a digital camera, but i can tell you what mine looks like, first its an eMachines T4150, then there isnt any doors or drive covers on it . Then it has a 13.6 gb hard drive sitting loose in a 5 1/4 bay. Then there isnt a top, left or right side on it.

Thankfully i just got a new job, so I’ll be able to rip my horrible tower into shreds and rebuild. Soon I’ll be getting a new tower, new motherboard, new processor, new memory and a new sound card.

Geocities does not allow external link like this. If you got your own webspace (ISP usually allocates few megs for its customers), use it instead of public service like geocities.

Wow, congratulations. And it only took you 9 or so posts to do it

cough edit button cough

cough cheap ass cough

Damn, I hope I’m not catching SARS from Dutch.

If you want web host, I suggest getting the $10/year plan from e-rice.net, 'cause free web host = :Z :Z :Z

150M Disk Space, 3G/mo Data Transfer, 1 MySQL Database, 10 Email/User Accounts

You get a 7 day trial. Pay if you like the plan, ignore and they’ll auto drop you.

No problem, but a search would have revealed it.

Yeah… something like a “Thermaltake Tt XaserII A500+”.
Perfect product !!

Looks nice, but I think thats like buying a Mustang with a six in it instead of a GT. Pretty but no umph!

A 450W p/s would be nice to replace the 350W + 150W “external” Compaq combo :stuck_out_tongue:

PIC1 PIC2

I could use some rounded cables too :stuck_out_tongue:

dialup users: pics are 680kb each :stuck_out_tongue:
