Cheapo Video card?

I have a 2 year old PC.
AMD 2400+ 512mb ram

Been using it for surfing the net + lots of burning.
It doesnt have a dedicated graphics card - only the on board video accelerator - never been a problem until now.

My mate has set up a game server - and invited me to play Call of duty with him. But I installed COD - and it wont play due to no card.
There are quite cheap cards available, will the basic cards play this game?
I dont expect top of the line graphics - just being able to play…
My mobo has both PCI + an AGP slot available.
