Cheap replacement remote for CAVS DVD player

I recently found a CAVS 203G DVD player in the garbage, lucky me :slight_smile: . I tested the unit out and it plays any disk I throw at it just fine ( it can also play divx and xvids). However, since it was in the garbage I am assuming something is wrong and I feel uneasy spending $40 on CAVS’ replacement remote.

Is there a cheap universal remote that will work with this unit? I tried my local radioshack but none of theirs were compatable with CAVS dvd players.

one wonders if the player was not in the garbage without the remote because the remote no longer worked

exactly.

I think I’m probably going to just get a universal remote that has a “search” button to see if it can find a code for the unit.
