Changing write strategy problems MCSE

vbimport

#1

strategy swap Yuden T02 for Yuden T03 to achieve 16x CAV burning.

MCSE reports swap is good. perform flash, reboot computer, only 12x write speed supported.

tested both 1.22 and 1.18 firmware, same results. :frowning:

#2

just tried again swapping MCC 004 and same results. :frowning:

maybe its MCSE?

edit// nope not MCSE, just tried swap T02 @ T03 using 1.1.0.18 MediaCodeSpeedEdit, same results. :frowning:

i dont get it, able to swap TYG02 with no problems.

IIRC also previous Pioneer drives did not allow to burn 8x +R disks faster than 12x. The firmware restricts the write speed somehow.

Hmmm, something else to look into and have modifiable in a future release of MSCE? :stuck_out_tongue:
IIRC also previous Pioneer drives did not allow to burn 8x +R disks faster than 12x. The firmware restricts the write speed somehow.
I’ve used my DVR-112D with either firmware 1.24 or 8.25, in this same scenario [I was using Sony-branded YUDEN000 T02, and wanted to try 16x and 18x], and got up to 18x offered for the T02 after strategy swapping for T03. [The drive actually attempted to do 18x and 16x, did 12x and 8x at using P-CAV instead of Z-CLV, etc].

Maybe it’s just the DVR-115D firmware with the problem here.
