Changing Regions and Pal to North American

Could somebody tell me if I am using Clone DVD and AnyDVD should I be able to copy a region 2, Pal DVD to North American Standard and Region 1?
Every time I try I just make an exact Pal Region 2 copy.
Thanks, Neal.

when you are using clonedvd and anydvd you are able to copy the movie region free i think there is an optopn in anydvd settings

Thanks herbei. I must be doing something wrong then. Can I take a Pal DVD and change it to North American Standard?

you have to set the default region to 2 and activate under feature removal the option region code. then should your movie be region free.

So even though I am in Region 1, I set the default to Region 2 (I guess because it is a Region 2 Disc) and then check the Region Code box.
Thanks herbei !

Thanks for the links. Looks like I have a lot of reading and learning to do.

This might be over my head.

is your dvd player not able to play pal disks, what player do you have???

I have no problem with my DVD player but I can’t lend the DVD to most of my friends because their DVD players can’t paly all regions or the PAL format so I thought I could make a NTSC abd region free disc for them. Most, actually all, of the DVD’s I get from Europe through the mail are a different region and in PAL.

If I already have the DVD recoded on the hard drive do I need to go through all the steps from the link? It looks like (to me any way) that I can start half way through. Plus I am using Clone DVD and AnyDVD, must I use Nero for the process to work?
Thanks, Neal.

What did I do wrong if the Pal to NTSC box is ‘greyed out’ in DVD2SXCD?
Thanks, Neal.

That should be DVD2SVCD. oops!
