Cdr Hack

Is it possible for a cdr writing program such as Nero, to be hacked so it would place a virus/trojan on a cdr, but the cdr would appear blank to the operating system(and NTI’s session explorer) ?

How is a cdr determined as blank, is there a specific region which reads true if its blank or false if its recorded, or does the drive check a certain area on the cdr for data and if none is found the disc is assumed blank?
