Great job on this review Jan70
in my opinion it’s strange that the top part of the drive itself looks a bit different from the picture of the drive on the box.
Great review Jan70, as usual, and very interesting drive.
Just a question. Is the drive without led?

Even the press picture from Lite-On also looks different compared with the â€real driveâ€.

No it has a (green) LED, but it is hardly visible when it is not in usage. In the attached picture you can see where the LED is located.

Thanks, a blue led would be a better choice.
any FW yet?
CP56 dated 5/9/2008, or
2P53 dated 4/29/2008
Looking at the firmware there are two versions, one with DVDRAM read support and one without. How do I how which is the correct version to use with my drive? Also, how do I verify the firmware version that comes with the drive? Thanks.
run nero infotool, it will tell you firmware, and if you drive can read dvd-ram now.
if it can, get the dvd-ram firmware
if it can’t get the non-dvd-ram firmware
I got one of these Liteons for XMas but the Power DVD oem that came with it will not work. I am running XP with a ATI 4850 dr ver. 8.1. It says it is not complient with copy right laws.
