CD write error

[qanda]This thread is about the Acer TM6292-6856. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Sorry, I used my notebook burner for some years (all working fine) but now I have this problem and I’m asking your advice. The reason for this error is unclear to me

I can read cd and dvd.
I can record dvd data.
I get an error if I try to record audio cd (almost immediately after burning)
Same error if I try to burn data cd (at the end, lead out I think).

I can’t understand how it could be an hardware problem because it doesn’t show in case of dvd, but I think you can explain that… I’m using different media type, verbatim, etc… so I would exclude that is due to poor media quality.
I’m using differnet sw (nero, burn4free, ImgBurn) and it is always the same: should I also exclude sw is causing troubles?

The errors I’m getting are write error, power calibration error… find attached a log from nero just to better clarify (please note that it fails at any lower speed).

Thank you very much in advance for your help .
I really appreciate this kind of forums, at least I have a chance to learn something new, even shouldn’t I fix my issue.

Best Regards. Giulio

Did you ever figure this out? I’m having almost the exact same problem. I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FE890 laptop which also has a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S
