Cd storage books and humidity

yo,
what is the consensus on the cd storage books that you slip your cds into? Apart from scratch risks, can they cause humidity problems? I have had some problems with murky splodges and spots on my cds, which some helpful people attributed to heat or humidity changes.
thanks

You refer to the large “wallet” style storage. Actually, these are only appropriate for short term use…transporting discs, etc.

There are several issues with these; plastic sleeves which can “rot” polycarbonate discs, and disc warpage are the 2 most worrisome issues.

Never use these for DVD storage, never stack them and always store them upright on their edges (vertical), not flat or horizontal.

There are a number of threads here on this topic already, do a search.
