CD-RW drive no more working

Hi! Have TEAC CD-W552 PUK external USB drive on my notebook with WinXP SP1. Having problem with a burning (drive didnot finish recording, aborting a 3 disks consequently) I tried a lot of things and, finally, made a wrong upgrading with a firmware made for CDW-552E (intrenal) for my 552 PUK USB external drive. The firmware was installed with success (unfortunately).
Now it doesn’t work.
In a device manager it is recognized as a STANDART CD-ROM DEVICE with a different driver (MSCDROM.INF) and put it as TEAC CD-W552E USB DEVICE (while again I have 552 PUK unit).
It doesnot recognize the original driver, saying basically that THERE IS NO A VALID DRIVER FOR THE DEVICE.
It shows up as an icon CD-RW but unable to read the content of any disk.
I was unable to locate any firmware for this 552 PUK model and I really don’t know is there something I can do to recover the drive ?
Please, help. :frowning:
