I have a problem that one of you may be able to help out with.
A couple of weeks ago i installed the nforce 5.10 winxp drivers because i wanted to get my usb2.0 ports on my motherboard working properly. My motherboard is an abit nf7-s rev2.0. The usb 2.0 ports are now working but now i have a new problem.
Since i have installed the nforce drivers my cd writer (samsung cd-r/rw sw-252b) and my pioneer dvd rom dvd-120 have stopped functioning. They open and close etc, but windows xp cannot detect them under my computer.
I have tried just about everything and its really annoying
I have tried unstalling the nforce ide driver, using nForce Reset and driver cleaner pro. Under device manager there is a yellow questionmark next to them and it's pretty obvious that the drivers aren't installed for them but i can't seem to find drivers for any of them?
I heard someone say to someone else that they should just use the standard microsoft ide drivers but where do i get these from? or should they already be there once the nforce ones are unstalled.
i dont know what else to try - any ideas?
thanks in advance!
