CD Rom Drive is not visible in Windows Explorer

Hello everyone, this is my first time here on the board hope you can help me with my problems, here it is:

I have Dell Inspiron 710M. The CD rom drive drive doesnt show in Internet Explorer thus I cant use the CD drive at all. I went to check the status of CD rom on Device Manager and it says:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I have Sony DVD ± RW DW-Q58A, detail info is:

IDE\CDROMSONY_DVD±RW_DW-Q58A____________________UDS2____\5&2D1BA31&0&0.0.0

Please help me make my cd drive work again. Thank you so much to this wonderful community!

To clear up your code 39 message and sort the problem out, go to this MS support page.

It contains instructions on deleting your upper and lower filters - if you’re unsure about manually editing the Registry, there is also a Guided Help you can download (from the same page) to help you through the process.
