I guess I wasn’t very specific in my skill level or what I have tried.
My skill level is very high (I have just completed 4 years in university studying computer sciences). Storage media just isn’t my specialty, I may have been dealing with them for years but very rarely have I ever had a single issue with one.
The disc shows absolutely no data, like I mentioned it is almost like the disc is in at all. The game has 2 cd’s and both have the exact same problem, the optical drive itself is fine and reads other cd/dvd’s I put in there, just not these two.
I think it is highly unlikely that both discs would be damaged to this point, especially since the discs were bought new and show only the most minor of scratches.
I haven’t yet tried the discs in another drive due to lack of availability (can’t try that until tomorrow). I have nothing else left to try since the discs just aren’t being read, nor do I a place to start on the issue. So if anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful, I know trying on another computer would be most effective but that has to wait a little bit, and I need to deal with this issue before the discs become hard to return.
oh and the game will run on winxp, the game is a rerelease on the lucasarts classics range. No need for changing the compatibility since it is listed on the back.
