Having personally tried and tested all brands of LiteON DVD recorders I can say, from my own experience that while in some cases some of those drives provide good quality, they are very unreliable (cheaply built) and have issues with interference, poor isolation etc. In terms of recording quality, not the best. VERY picky about input signal. If you really want good quality from your VHS transfers and especially tuner, then go for either a JVC, Pioneer or Toshiba. I have chosen the Toshiba DR4, it beats the LITEON hands down, has a solid construction, editing features, menu colour templates to choose from, many options and for once a QUALITY TV tuner (stereo and SAP) along with a frame syncroniser and proc amps. Only a bit more expensive than LITEON but a lot better for peace of mind. Handlse poor VHS tapes very well and final DVD is less degraded than the LITEON. Quality for 3 and 4 hour recording beats liteons hands down. The liteons are too noisy IMO - I do use a LITEON DVD recorder on my PC and I am extremely happy, but personally in terms of features and reliability, I would look elsewhere for DVD recorders.
