I have a quick question about coexistance of various CD/DVD burning software on my system. I have a Gateway 825GM (3.4GHz Pentium 4, 800 MHz FSB 1MB L2 cache, 250GB hard drive). I also have 2 internal drives (a 16x DVD-ROM and a 16x 8.5GB DL DVD +/- R/RW drive. I have two external DL DVD +/- R/RW drives (a Sony DRX-710UL and an HP dvd740 w/ Lightscribe). Before the installation of the HP drive I was running Sony Vegas 4.0 and Roxio Easy Media Creator version 7 and everyone was getting along perfectly. When I bought the HP Drive it came with Nero OEM Version 6 w/ Lightscribe support. At the same time I decided to upgrade to Roxio Creator Suite Version 8. Now all kinds of wierd things are going on. I can no longer render MPG's from Sony Vegas. It gives me a message saying that 'MainConcept MPEG plugin was not able to initialize'. It also says that another third party application has installed MainConcept modules in the System folder. Was this Roxio V8 or Nero. I am thinking it was Nero because I can no longer build timelines and create videos from either version of Roxio. I go through the entire video creation process but when I try to save the completed movie to my hard drive both products lock up and I have to terminate the applications to clear up the problem. Is there another product that supports Lightscribe besides Nero. Any assistance that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.
