CD/DVD issue

Hello folks,
I have had an issue with my laptop. For some reason I am not able to read and or burn a CD or DVD. I looked around the WWW to see if i could find the issue and this is what i found:

I have a gateway MT6452, Windows Vista Home Premium.
I think my drive is: DVD RW AD-7530A ATA
Any and all help well be appreciated
Thanks, Chris

Unistall the drive thru the device manager, then restart windows. Windows will reinstall the drive automatically. Welcome to the forum, that should do the trick, either way let us know what happens.

Apparently you are using some software disabling you drives drivers to be loaded, ie. emulation software or drive “hiding” app.
Uninstall whatever shouldn’t be there. Use this bustrace app to determin what device drivers/filters are loaded.
Check http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms795702.aspx for advanced troubleshooting.

BTW THE C., recommending uninstalling hardware thru device manager in every second post you make is not that constructive.

I really dont know what all this means lol…
