[qanda]This thread is about the Dell Inspiron 1525. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I've had my laptop for about 2 years now, and i've never had a problem with anything. I burned cd about a week ago. Earlier today i came home to burn another one, and at the top of my player it says, "connect a burner and restart the player". I've been searching this topic thoroughlly, and it seems that alot of people also have this problem. I've done everything i could find, including, deleting the upper and lower filters and running my anti-virus, malware amd spyware programs. I made sure everything was connected properly, there isnt a drive in device manager to try uninstalling and reinstalling. I have no other burners to interfere with Windows Media player, i uninstalled everything having to do with roxio and itunes. When i turn on my laptop the drive flashes green and it opens and closes fine, when i oinsert a cd it starts spinning anf quickly stops. I even took apart my laptop and disconnected and reconnected the drive. So i guess what i need to know now is this fixable and how, or do i need to purchase a new drive??
