CD Clam Shells?

Anyone have experience with using CD “clam shells” for long time storage?

They look pretty neat, like a compromise between sleeves and jewel cases. Can they scratch a CD like a sleeve can? That’s my number one concern. Like does the CD touch the sides of the case like a sleeve, or is there “space” between the sides and CD, like in a jewel?

Actually you can form small cracks around the inner rime using these as there is no place to press to release the disc and so you are causing stresses where the grip is. These cracks can lead to discs breaking up in the drive. I have scrapped a number of discs that have had cracks after being stored in these.
