CCE in DVD2SVCD error....HELP!

This has happened a few times now when converting xvid to
DVDR.

cce encoder failed:error: video check-sum is different from that of previous pass.
sourse video data or time code may be different
please check video tape or the information file

It usually happens about 10% into the second pass. Anyone else have this happen, and a solution please?

Could this be dodgy codecs installed? What is that tool that tells you what are installed, so I can put them on here and see what you people think.

OK…found it, these are the installed codecs…

Bloody hell mate, you have more Codecs installed than I’ve had hot dinners   What do you need all them for ?

First suggestion is to uninstall the Codec pack that installed all this crap, and then have a read of the AVI to VCD or SVCD or DVDR (I dont know what your converting to) and install ONLY the codecs I list there.

However, your problem is probably not assocciated with the codecs with the CRC error your getting. There is a published Patch needed for CCE to fix this problem. Do a search for CRC Patch at Doom9.net

I am converting to DVD. I think the problem is solved now. I now switch the PC off for about 2 minutes, then reboot afresh, then go straight into DVD2SVCD and it seems to be working fine.

As for them codecs…I only installed the XVID 1.0, Dixv 5, MP3 and an AC3 one for virtual dub, god knows where the rest came from

Mind you…I’ve not re-formatted for around 7/8 months, mabye time for a “spring clean”

@ ChickenMan
That’s a normal collection, about 85% of those mentioned above are bundled either with Windows itself or with Windows Media Player 7 and higher.

I’m fully aware of that, its just the other 20-15% that concern me.

What concerns you?
Except from a couple of files that overlaps each other I don’t see a reason (shouldn’t case CCE to crash anyways).

xvid.ax and divxdec.ax are selfexplaining, ivivideo.ax is bundled with WinDVD and I suppose that CLVSD.ax comes with PowerDVD.
Huffyuv.dll - Lossless codec that’s widely used.
VFAPI Reader Codec - Used by TMPGEnc (and others?) to access several formats and applications such as VirtualDubMod and QT for instance.

l3codeca.acm , l3codecp.acm - Non-free MP3 ACM filters that supports MP3 encoding at high bitrates (64kbps and higher).
AC3ACM.acm - No idea, WinDVD/PowerDVD?
ac3filter.ax - A free (and great) AC3 decoder used widely, not really needed along with the other AC3 decoders in this setup.
iviaudio.ax - WinDVD
CLAUD.ax - PowerDVD
mpgaudio.ax - No idea

Its because I use AMD barton CPU, thats why [i think anyway] that CCE is getting problems.

Anyway, Its only CCE that causes me problems, nothing else…so its not really a big worry.
