Capturing Audio From This Website

Hi, I am trying to capture this audio clip from this website for my nephew I told him I could capture it using a program I had (VLC) but when I tried I could not do it. Its an old school hip hop mix a little over an hour long. Can anyone tell me how to capture it and what software I might need. I thought it involved streaming audio but I don’t think you call this particular audio just that. Can someone help please. The link is below, and it is clean, this is not my first post. Thanks to all that help.

There are some add-ons for Firefox that can capture video and audio, like Flash Video Downloader

There are also some programs that will record what you can hear. One I’ve used in the past is Mp3MyMp3: http://www.mp3mymp3.com/
Read their FAQ page to see how to set it up. http://www.mp3mymp3.com/faq.htm

(decline the Relevant Knowledge bit in the setup of Mp3MyMp3, and it will still let you install)

Thanks Kerry, the mp3mymp3 sounds like it might be a difficutlt set up procedure, wil the Flash Video Downloader do the trick? Also shouldn’t VLC be able to do it, or your not familiar with that software? Thanks!

I haven’t used VLC for that purpose.

I just did a test capture with Mp3MyMp3 with that site and it worked just fine.

Ok with respect to the Flash Video Downloader even though what i am trying to capture is audio, not video, will that work?

If the site is using a flash based player, then yes, that add-on should work for audio. It is easy enough to add and test. And if it doesn’t work, just delete it from your add-ons in Firefox.

I tried it just now with the Flash Video Downloader addon, and it is not compatible with that site.

Ok, so sorry i missed the #5 post, will post back with my results when i install it, thanks again Kerry!

I just tried your link and I had no problems using VLC to capture. What problem did you encounter?

The saved file was empty could you post the procedure you used and the version of VCL that you used? Thanks!

I was wrong, sorry. I didn’t bother to check the file and you are right, it is empty. I’m not sure why VLC isn’t working. I’ll play around with it a bit more. Once again, sorry for not being more thorough.

Kerry my Anti Virus, wouldn’t let me save it much less install it. It states that it is “a variant of Win32/Adware.MarketScore.A application” i was not expecting this, i am uncomfortable with downloading this even if it’s a false positive.

A couple of other Anti Viruses found an infection as well according to this page. http://www.downloadroute.com/Mp3-My-MP3-Recorder-Digital-Liquid/antivirus_report.html

Was wondering if there is any other program that saves any audio you hear on your computer straight to mp3 or wav.?

Why don’t you simply register to download the mix ?
From my understanding you have three (or 5?) free downloads per day as a basic user.

Free MP3 Sound Recorder worked, i am satisfied, thanks all!

Even though it isn’t required anymore; here you can download the mix:
