I've a strange problem!
I've an ASUS 0402P/D. (Yes, it's kind of old...) I use this drive seldom, so I don't think it's time to break down for it.
The problem is that, I can't read DVD+R discs written by this drive. Now I don't have any blank +R discs at home, so I can't try if it recognizes blank ones, or neither those. However, it reads any kind of CD, DVD-R, -RW or +RW discs.
I've read many owner of Pioneer/ASUS drives have the same or similar problems, but no real solution I've found.
Now I've tried it with Pioneer firmware, ASUS firmware. I've cleaned the lens. I've tried to change the IDE cables, and so on. Nothing...
It's very strange, that, if I click on the Disc Info page in Nero CD-DVD Speed, there are garbage memory data in the Lead-in dump, and the other disc parameters displayed are inaccurate too. All information are random memory data, and changes every time I eject and close the tray. I think it's memory data, because I there are program executable names, paths etc.
Anyone, any suggestion?
