Hi,

there are power adapters (from molex to Sata) available. No problem.
Example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812105409
(But extremely pricey there  )

my hp pc come with a 300w PS. Will it has any detrimental effect on the PC for adding additional HD for a 300w PS ?

I intend to purchase a 1 TGB HD on top on my 320 GB HD. Will it slow down my system ?

Hi,
my hp pc come with a 300w PS. Will it has any detrimental effect on the PC for adding additional HD for a 300w PS ?
shouldn’t be a problem. I’d be rather concerned about heat. There should be about 1 cm (1/2") space between the two HDDs at least.

No.

I recently bought a molex to SATA adapter from a local PC shop for $5, not really that pricey, but I’d look locally before looking online.

But looking locally is indeed the better option for such low-price articles :iagree:

Most of the WD SATA drives I have bought came with molex-to-SATA power adapters.
