Can't flash my LG GDR-8163B with newer firmware

I downloaded the FwFlash program from the LG website, but I get an error every time I attempt to flash the drive to version 0L23.

Right now my drive has 0D20 installed.

Here are a few screenshots to illustrate my case:

What do I need to do to fix this? I’ve never had any problems flashing drives in the past.

0Dxx firmware might be another upgrade path than 0Lxx firmwares. One reason could be OEM vs. retail drives. Flashing retail firmware onto an OEM drive might be suppressed that way.

Indeed. I’ve begun to surmise the same conclusion.

This is an OEM drive from a Dell machine I bought back in 2004. Is the proper avenue to go through Dell’s support or are there ways to crossflash this drive?

Maybe with devilsclaw’s tool…

or are there ways to crossflash this drive?
What for?
I am not aware of a crossflashing method for that drive, but perhaps the console guys (xbox modders etc.) have something useful.
