In this thread you say:
I purchased a Toshiba HD-A3 HD DVD Player. Thinking since it was a
HD DVD player it would play all Media formats, Except of course for Blue
I find out it only plays -R Media ??? What’s up with that … Anyways I have
Two optical drives One in my computer and a Lite-On External Burner.
I have about 100 Blank +R Tayo Yuden Media that I use to Booktype movies
from Dvd+R to Dvd-Rom. It works fine but it will not Booktype -R media.
So I can Not play any of the Booktyped to DVD Rom Movies in the HD DVD
Player. Since it does not play +R media. But since it is already Booktyped to
DVD-Rom shouldn’t it play?
Anyways are there any Booktype / Bitsetting Utilities That will work on -R
media. To Booktype a -R to Dvd-Rom.
On another site someone suggested a program called DVDDitSet which
looks the same as the +R utility basically I tried to Booktype -R media to
DVD-Rom on both drives. It did burn the movie, but when I ran DVD
Identifier its showed that the Bookytype was Not Changed and the
Media was still -R ???
I have used the Identifier Program on my +R and it shows the change
from +R to DVD-Rom.
So are there any Utilities out there that will Booktype a DVD -R Disc.
Someone Please Help Me…
In another thread you say:
“Does a Toshiba HD DVD Upconvert Regular Stantard -R DVD’s. I heard someone Say that they don’t and some models don’t play them at all… I heard that they only upconvert +R Blank Media Only…”
It appears that you do not know what you are asking-
Suggest that you read the manual that came with the unit for your answers-
Both my Toshiba A35 and A3 will play any -R or +R Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burned media that I put in them-eh!!
