Can't determine manufacturer of my dvd+r

I’m new here but I’ve been browsing the forums for a few days and decided to join looks like lots of good useful info here  Hopefully this isnt a stupid question but I recently bought: a 50 Pack Taiyo Yuden (DVD+R47ZZSB8) 8X DVD+R 4.7GB Silver Thermal Lacquer Blank Media on Spindle, No Stacking Ring, $0.46 each from Taiyo Yuden seems to be well respected and highly recommended no matter who I asked. Problem is I’m not sure if I was ripped off or not. Using KProbe I got these results

Disc Type DVD+R
Book Type Unknown
Media ID
Capacity 4.38 GB
Free Size 4.38 GB
Free Blocks 2295104
Number of Layers 0
Maximum Read Speed 7.8x
Maximum Write Speed 7.8x
Current Write Speed 3.1x CAV
Write Speed Performance Descriptor 1 3.1x CAV
Write Speed Performance Descriptor 2 2.0x CLV
Write Speed Performance Descriptor 3 1.3x CLV
Write Speed Performance Descriptor 4 1.0x CLV
Write Speed Performance Descriptor 5 0.5x CLV

Using Nero tools it couldnt tell me a manufacturer either  Whats the deal here should I call them up and complain then send them back?

oh my drive is a NEC-6100A if that matters at all

So this is gonna sound stupid, but you have BURNED a disc before probing, right?

I checked it against a burned dvd-r and couldnt get any results either

I flashed my drive from a 6100a to a 6500a now if I use Nero it will tell me the manufacturer but if I use KProbe it wont, I dont think KProbe is working correctly for me

Hello and welcome at CDF,

KProbe is specially designed for LiteON drives and only works with them (and a few BTC drives). So it won’t work correctly with your NEC.

You can also use DVD Identifier to check out the manufacturer of your disc.
