Can't burn to DVD

I just purchased Clone DVD and Any DVD a couple weeks ago.
Everything worked fine untill now. The DVDs rip just fine
but when I go to burn I get the error "insert recordable
media" I have tried several blank dvds and it won't
recognize it. I also noticed in Clonedvds log it is not
showing a "layer break" when ripping, which it did in the
past. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it still
isn't working, I don't have any other software running in
the background i.e. sonic, etc. These are also newer movies, seinfeld season 4, hitch and a few others. Thank you for your help.

Are you sure the output size is still set to DVD-5 not DVD-9.

When you say several blank dvds do you mean you have tried different brands of media or are they all the same brand?

Can you burn with any other applications, or is this specific to CloneDVD2?

The movies you have mentioned should work no problem with the latest version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.

As bcn_246 suggests make sure you have the right size selected (DVD-5)

I have used sony and verbatim with no problems. I have burned maybe 50 movies so far. The output size is set to dvd-5. When ripping with clonedvd2, shouldn't it state in the log 'layer break successful' because it is not showing this as it did in the past.....strange. I haven't done anything different with my computer i.e. new software etc. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have any suggestions here? I have been pulliing my hair out! I ran my virus scan, spybot, adaware, compressed all files, checked out all my programs for unwanted, checked firewall for allowed access, etc., etc., etc., can't figure this out, it worked fine last week, any help would be appreciated.

Could it be that your DVD burner has died? Could you try to burn with another application to rule out CloneDVD2?

You are absolutely right! After trying several other things I inserted a dvd and it sounded like an airplane was taking off and it wouldn't eject. This is a brand new Lacie d2 and is only a few weeks old. I sent it back to Lacie and they are going to work on it, needless to say I am glad it was the burner and not something I was doing wrong but am pissed because I can't burn for a week....oh well.......thanks for the suggestions.
