Can't back up anymore

I have been using DvdFab Gold for a couple of years now and it has always worked great but lately I can’t backup anything…it seems to copy to the hdd fine but it won’t burn…usually 2016 errors…I sent my crash files to the email address given in the above post. Is there a problem w/the software? I updated to the latest version. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to work. Here is my latest error log.

You may need to run a registry cleaner and defrag HD. Lot of programs use patin coffin engine and with uninstalls bits and pieces can be left behind and can cause conflicts resulting in errors.

Update…there are times when it will burn and say it finished successfully but the disc is unreadable…

Even on the computer? I have burnt DVDs that will only play on 1 of my 3 stand alone players while others play on all 3. Make sure your media is compatable with your players.

Yeah there are times when something is burned to the disk then my computer wont even recognize the disk at all…I am wondering if my writer is bad? Although it will read disks that are ok…just nothing that it is burning lately…and my other dvd drive can’t read them either.

I would run a couple of “bad discs” through nero CD-DVD Speed, ie., scan disc utility, in order to determine this. You can also try vso inspector.

Good luck, hope this helps.

I have the same problem, were after using DVD Region+CSS Free my DVR will not read any type of DVD wether it is a data DVD rom or a Movie DVD, or a blank DVD. However it will read and write to CD ROMs with out any problems. I have tried fixing this problem but cant get my DVDR to read DVD’s I have even tried formatting my computer and reinstalling XP. However this has not worked.

Read my reply to your post in the thread you started.

Ended up having to get a new drive.
