HiMy Canon MP210 scanner printer has stopped scanning and is alternately flashing 'E then 5'
Does anyone know what this error code means and what I need to do to fix it?

Error code E5 seems to be related to ink cartridges. Canon recommends replacing or reseating the ink cartridges. This is their solution list:
[I]Installing / removing ink cartridges MP210 Replace ink cartridge(s) MP210 Reseat ink cartridge MP210 Supported ink cartridges MP210 The MP210 may require repair [/I]

Now, what that has to do with scanning is beyond me.
