I am encountering the following problem :
Having bought a Samsung TS-E552 USB2 DVD (firmware U06) writer, I am unable to use it at full speed for writing DVD+R. In the best case I can only reach 4x. Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 tells me the writer is plugged on a USB 1.1 port (which is not the case), Nero 6 reloaded returns me different maximum speeds each time I start a performance test. So how can I reach 16x (12 would already be nice).
Configuration: HP pavillon AMD 64 3400+ 512 Mb ram
Also, could clarify the following for me :
What’s wrong with EM Creator 7.5 as far as the USB port recognition is concerned?
Does the type of Media (DVD+R 2.4x) act as a limit to the possible speed range?
Are the performance of a drive “creative-suiteâ€-dependant (roxio, Nero,…)?
Intervideo WinDvd creator does not allow me to write faster than 4x , is it due to the drive or the suite?
Thanks for your help!
