Cannot uninstall NeroLINUX

Tried to uninstall NeroLINUX tonight, but got the following error:

[eugaet@localhost ~]$ sudo rpm -e nerolinux-2.0.0.2-x86.rpm
error: package nerolinux-2.0.0.2-x86.rpm is not installed

However, when I try to install it (because it says it isn’t, although I can run it just fine) I get:

[eugaet@localhost ~]$ sudo rpm -i nerolinux-2.0.0.2-x86.rpm
package nerolinux-2.0.0.2-1 is already installed

I’m sure there’s an easy answer for this, but I haven’t found it yet. Distro version is as follows:

[eugaet@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.12-1.1372_FC3 #1 Fri Jul 15 00:59:10 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

TIA

Strange thing.

Did you try to do a real superuser login, not the sudo thing ( su - )?
If not, try this. Once logged in as real superuser (usually root, but not neccesarily), try to rebuild the rpm db and search through it for nero:

rpm --rebuilddb
rpm -qa | grep nero

This should really tell you what is installed and what not.

sudo rpm -e nerolinux (no version number or file extention) should be added.

Actually you can add the version and release # to the package if you have multiple versions of the same package installed. Unfortunately not all people name their RPM’s with this format name-version-release.arch.rpm, so you’ll need to query the package to figure out the actual info.

Ex:
rpm -q name
rpm -e name-version-release

#5

‘sudo rpm -e nerolinux-2.0.0.2-1’ should do the job

That did it. Thanks to all who replied!
