Few weeks ago I bought a Verbatim 3x DVD-RAM, which was not formatted. So I did full format as FAT32. Everything worked fine. One day I burned this RAM with Nero. Now I cannot format this media in Win XP. I got error: windows was unable to complete the format. I tried both quick and full format. Strange that files were remaining on the disc. Then i full-erased the disc using nero, but i still cannot format the disc. Looked in CD-DVD Speed, selected Extra menu and Erase Disc… and it won’t let me choose Format, only Erase. I have two DVD-RAM drives (look signature), i think my DVD-RAM media is damaged
Maybe you can format with Panasonic’s driver?
I had similar problems too.
Yep, I’d recommend giving that a go too. I never use XP by itself to format my DVD-RAM, and I haven’t had a problem so far.
Although, I believe Geno uses ImgBurn to do it too, so that’s another thing to try.
Surprise. My TSSTcorp drive performed quick format successfully, after i posted my problem here. Before posting it was unsuccessful
