Funny how I was able to find a work around for a brand new movie, such as Saw III when it first came out. But somehow I’m not able to make anything work for an older movie like Gettysburg. Any ideas?
I backup a lot of older movies because I watch for sales of previously viewed DVDs and never had a problem with backward compatibility. Are you getting any error codes and where does the problem start?
The disc is so big, that it’s like a laser disc. You have to flip the movie over to be able to finish the movie. Anyways, it doesn’t matter if it’s on one side or the other, it makes it to VTS_02_1.VOB and then you can just watch the time remaining count up instead of count down. I tried under Full Disc and Customize.

You have what is called a flipper. I have never seen one but have heard that there is a flipper with DL on one side and SL on other side. I do not think that is what you have though. I have some with WS format on 1 side and FS on other, but from your post I think the movie just continues. When I back up a flipper, I put each side on a separate DVD because I have about 200 TY -R 4X media that I buy in bulk for about $.25 each delivered. This not cheap bad media, but 1st Class media at a good price, so when on sale I stock up. May step up to 8X next time. Are you trying to merge the 2 sides into 1 DVD, if so merge is not as of now supported by Fab but will be in next beta per fengtao.
Yeah, it is a “flipper” where the actual movie is 4 hours long. So one side has the first half and the second side has the other half. I wasn’t trying to squeeze both sides on one 4.7gb disc. I was going to make it into two discs. My media was corrupt. Apparently I wasn’t able to back up the disc in time. I saw the scratch, didn’t realize the severity until I attempted to watch it on my dvd player. Fortunately I found out how bad the scratch was 40 minutes into the movie, instead of 2 hours heh. Thanks anyways. Oh and I use TDK -R blanks with 18x…works fast on my new computer.
