What a trade off the RIAA lawsuits or a levy on recordable media. Only in Canad Eh !! for futher reading check out http://www.cb-cda.gc.ca/decisions/c12122003-b.pdf. The 97 page report from the Copyright Board. The only point I am bothered by is the amount off money collected and the amount distributed to the artists by the CPCC

Look, we all know an elephant is a mouse made to government specifications…since when does a government ruling, in any country, on any subject, NOT beg more questions than they answer…Lets face it… there’s pox, there’s cancer… and then there’s governments… Never have so few owed so much to so many…and paid them very little of it…:X

In germany an institution called GEMA has been doing this for years, which doesn’t do anyone any good because the people who receive the money are rich and famous anyways. They determine who gets what by using statistics such as the official sales charts of the past and present and so on…

Definitely have to agree with you Sherrif. A government is supposed to be an organization created by the general public to protect their interests and makes things better for everyone. What they have mutated into instead, though, are overbloated institutions made up of power hungry polititions serving their own interests and those of the special interest groups who donate the most money to them to further their interests. Like the Oracle said, all men who have power only want more power:p It’s pretty obvious from all the cover-ups and conspiracies of the last half a century or so, so many examples of governments hiding the truth from the public, that they no longer have the best interests of their citizens in mind, regardless of which country you want to talk about. Some, of course, are worse than others but the overall situation is sickening:r
