I learned how to cross flash through this forum (thank you all) and now I got a new question.
Can I crossflash my now GSA-H20L to a GSA-H10N???
As I have learned this can be done if the chipsets are the same but then I ran across this statement on this forum at:
GSA-H10A : Renesas R8J32018FPV
- GSA-H/E10L : Renesas R8J32018FPV*
- GSA-H/E10N : Renesas R8J32018FPV*
- GSA-H12N : Renesas R8J32018FPV
- GSA-4164B/4166B : Panasonic MN103SA6GSJ
- GSA-H20L : Panasonic MN103SB4GSA
Then I read:
"The H20N has been successfully cross flashed with H20L firmware, which suggests the two drives use the same chipset."
So now I must ask the question as to what "Suggests" actually means in the above example???. As I have been told, crossflashing can only be done if the chipsets are the exact same. That the issue is really that black & white.
I have been told that flashing a burner with firmware designed for a specific chipset will break a unit if it has something different.
So what will really happen to me if I flash my GSA-H20L to a GSA-H10N??? Please note that this burner was originally a HP DVD-840.
Thank you again for your support to me.
