[qanda]This thread is about the Imation External DVD Recorder. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]I'm a newbie and have been involved with DVD burning for a few weeks now on both my PC dvd writer, ( LG) (xp pro) , and my Lite 5045 separate tuner/writer.,, and wanted to ask:
On my LG burner using the soft ware ConvertXtoDVD when burning .avi files (more than one), the time limit shows me that anything more than 208 minutes shows poor quality( in red).., and below 206 minutes show good quality., But when I pull the disc out of the tray upon completion I have at least 30% left to burn visually in the surface..,
Now when I use my lite 5045 burner and push the recording to the maximum time.., I have very little to no visual rings left.
So question is,- How much time can i satisfactorily burn the DVD-r using convertx software? up to 240 minutes? and if so., what about the waning of poor quality? Doesn't convert x using one speed only, .. you use 120 minutes or up to 200 minutes, the 'quality' should remain the same.,
where as my lite 5045 burner, has 'set in speeds'
such as XP/ SP/LP/EP/SLP speeds for 30 to 360 minutes ..
and yes the 360 minutes do like crap compared to SP.., but it is the convertx program I'd like to know about.
Can I push the burn to use up these existing visual rings I see ??????????????
