Sounds to me like the copy protection implemented on any of these Blu-ray discs could be it’s downfall…particularly the Microsoft dial-up solution…let’s face it anything that involves contacting a third-party to allow playback is gonna be as flakey and unreliable as hell. Picture it, you’ve got the beers in, the popcorns on the go, you’ve got shot of the misses…then your mates turn up for that back to back Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings watching session you planned weeks ago. But what’s this…none of the discs will play? Oh dear what could be wrong? Your DSLs down, your phoneline is out, the server at the other end is busy or down. So everyone’s wasted their time, or it’s back to those good old DVDs that never let you down! Let’s face it by the time your laggered you won’t be able to tell the difference between VHS, VCD, DVD or HDTV anyway!
