Can I hook up 1 cable box or sat. box to 5 TV’s? But still be able to watch different programs. I moved this to Cable & satilite.
My guess would be NO. The cable box must be told which channel you wish to have it ‘decode’. It then outputs that channel on the out to TV line. One signal…one channel. Splitting it only splits the same data.
No guess it would be a NO
Thanks for the info. I just thought that with all of the technology out there now there would be some thing like that. I guess the cable & sat co’s want to make more money box rental.
For SAT you need a receiver at each TV or a receiver with multiple tuners and use seperate outputs for each TV.
For cable you need a receiver at each TV where you want to watch digital channels or scrambled channels (such as HBO or pay per view). All of the basics channels can be tuned by most TV’s and other devices.
