Don’t know if this means anything or not but here goes.
I use CD Burner XP to burn with. I started the program with no disk in the drive and clicked on Disk Information. It shows a 100 MB disk that is 40MB free and 60MB used. And that is with no disk in the drive!! Weird?
I am also beginning to wonder about something.
How many NEC users with this problem are copying and burning data that is copyrighted? (Don’t answer that! Just a wonder.) But if it is with all of them then it may be something THEY(THEM) have uploaded to PCs without anyone knowing which in my opinion would be a case of invasion of Privacy as well as tampering with private property. Of course theirs would be a case of Piracy. Now I was always under the impression that a copyright infringement would be if you were to try to make money off of their data. But if it is for personal enjoyment how could copyright be infringed? With all the MP3 players out there would it be considered infringement if you have a CD and you upload the music to the MP3? If someone wants to give you a CD is that infringement?
If anyone thinks that their drivers have been modified, they can open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers right click on the top pane where it says name/ Size ect ect and choose modified. Then click Modified in the pane. Check which files have been modified and created on latest date. You may find someting you did not know was there. (All this not for newbies)
I found this file, TVICHW32.SYS, created on 7/13/08 on this system. (Haven’t checked the other systems yet. (I have 4 running online). There is a website about it. http://www.entechtaiwan.net/dev/hw32/faq.shtm
Don’t know if it has anything to do with this issue but it was created on the same day I started having the problems.
More to come, I am sure.
