Burning VIDEO TS files to DVD using Nero 6

Hi,
Brand new here and need some help. I have a VIDEO TS folder that contains the following files,
VIDEO TS
VIDEO TS
VIDEO TS
VTS 01 0
VTS 01 0
VTS 01 1
VTS 01 2
VTS 01 3
VTS 01 4
VTS 01 5
and it is a torrent(no, not copywritten material). I tried to burn it to a dvd using Nero, and everything seemed to be going fine…it did the “analyzing” and got to the point where it would burn it to the dvd, and then it started doing it’s thing, and said it was “transcoding” something, and the time left was almost 3 hours!! I know it can’t take this long to burn this to a dvd, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I tried to get some info on this last night via a google search, and stumbled upon a forum where a person had asked almost this exact same question, but not pertaining to Nero…just how to do this in general. A person had replied and told him to use ImgBurn, and in a few easy steps, it would be done. I downloaded it, followed the instructions, and it worked perfect, and in just under a half hour total, and I can play the dvd in my standalone dvd player, and use the menus…everything! So, what did I do wrong with Nero? I know people do this with Nero, but I must have missed something. Like I said, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Imgburn is one of the best apps around, glad it worked for you. As for Nero it sounds like you might be using Vision? I think Express or Burning Rom is what you would want to use if no conversion is necessary, but I ditched Nero a year or so ago for Imgburn and haven’t looked back.

Thanks for responding! Yeah, I used the smart start thing in Nero, and selected DVD from the drop down menu, and selected “Make your own DVD-Video”…that may be where I went wrong, especially with these files, but I am new to this.Probably should have picked “Burn Image to Disc” from the copy and backup section, correct? I’m just curious…I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition. It’s good to hear the feedback about ImgBurn though…it really was too easy! Kind of funny the freeware is more user friendly than the retail software.

You would have to have an image file to burn it to disc, the option should be burn files/folders to disc…can’t remember which, it’s been a while

Yeah, I went back in through program files/nero, intead of the smart start thing, and you can go right to express or burning rom. Up until now, I’ve copied cds here and there, but no dvd stuff, so just goes to show it pays to explore the program a little:o. Actually, someone on the Metallica forums kind of told me how, and it was the way I tried, but I guess they were misinformed.

Thanks!! That is exactly what I was looking for, although I agree that ImgBurn is too easy. I’m the type of person that just likes to know how to do it with what I’ve got…just because I know it can, and I simply haven’t figured it out yet:bigsmile:

Yeah, I didn’t know you had posted the links to the guides when I posted that, or I wouldn’t have lol! Thanks very much for your help!
