Burning to dvd

We are capturing film from camcorder to computer using Nero and then burning to dvd. However we find that the resultant dvd may play on a computer, but it will not play on a normal dvd player.

We are using printable dvd+R discs

Can anybody help us to solve this problem as we now have a number of unhappy clients.

Welcome to the forum

Could be the software/conversion process or a media problem, I’ll tackle the media

What’s the rated speed of the discs you’re using, and also the brand?

What burner(s) are you using to burn the discs, and what actual burn speed are you choosing?

EDIT: Another possibility, if your burner allows it, would be to set the booktype in Nero to DVD-ROM (since you’re using +R discs), for improved compatability on older players.

Great choice :iagree:

As Beefy said, the next thing we need to know is the drive model - and also as I mentioned, the burn speed.

For best results, I tend to burn my own Verbatim 16x +Rs at 8x. Which is neither too slow or too fast.

I’ve burned plenty of these discs, on various drives, all at the same speed, for others and have had no complaints.

fwaring,

listen to the nice Lady Arachne.

8x or 12x burning speed is optimal for 16x DVD±R depending on the burner model.
Which one is it?
