Burning question

me again…

Im using nero 6 reloaded!..and my dvd burner is TSSTcorp samsung… its supposed to be a good un…

I asked on here about the best dvd-r,s to buy… cause im having some slipped discs… so I bought some verbatim today… and they still slip!! am I burning right…? I usually use… nero express copy dvd…so I changed to recode 2… which was quicker… but sometimes quick isn’t necessarily the best…

im burning at 8x… and my dvd-r,s are 8x… my dvd player has trouble even loading them… its hit and miss everytime… the playstation plays all the time… but still getting slips…and jumps… but my portable dvd player, plays them back terribly…

How do I achieve the perfect burn?, that will play in most dvd players…

I dont understand what encoding, recoding, even mean… im not techie… :disagree:

so what method do you use…???

please help… im running out of chill pills…

Caz

Hi Caz, me again

First off, tell us what you’re wanting to do…backup a movie? A data DVD?

 im trying to back up movies…having just looked on here at hardware compatability… it may seem that its my burner thats the problem… I have TSSTcorp tsh552b… according to the review… it reads pretty well… but its writing capabilities are pretty poop!!! especially with verbatim… .

I just wanna be able to playback movies on my standalones…

will it help slowing the speed down…

whats the best function to burn…?

even music cd,s dont burn proper… it plays fine when you just play it… but when you search thru… it cant find the next track right away… like how movies play… if they play at all… I wait ages, my dvd makes funny noises, then says “cannot read disc… please check the disc”… im really peed off now… shud I just go pc world and buy a new burner??? and chuck this one thru comets shop window!!!..

anyone wanna buy 49 bulkpaq dvd-r
anyone wanna buy 49 verbatim dvd-r

thanks again…

You should use nero recode. It sounds more like your player doesnt support the media eg. dvd+/- r media. Also, at what speed a re you burning? This can cause problems.

im burning at 8x… i was stuck in pio mode at the weekend, but thats been fixed now… but no difference…

I can play back anything ive burned in my pc and they are perfect quality… but they struggle on standalones…

are you in the uk… if so can you recommend a decent burner thats good for dvd-r playback on standalones…

but alternatively, can you help me resolve my methods im using to burn, so that summat will play?

just wanted to mention, that im not copying copyright discs… my project is a tv program, and various photoshows… I can create them easily enough/… then I copy what Ive made for family and friends… and most of them cant be played on there dvd players… so I feel like I have a rubbish burner!

I have an nec 3540 and havnt had any problems, but dont want to say others are great if i dont have them. im still not clear on your burner, can you copy the info from nero info tool?

A good way you can get around this is by getting some dvd+r media and setting the booktype to dvd-rom

hi. I dont know how to copy my nero info tool on here… it wont let me copy & paste… how do I do it?

Nero InfoTool 3.07
