Burning Process Fails with Nero 9

Hey guys.

I recently got nero 9 and have been trying to burn a few DVDs. So far, out of 6 attempts, 2 have failed because of the burning process failing at the end.
The first part of the transcoding or whatever works and it happens but when it comes to burning it, it ends with it failing.
So I tried to re-use the DVD again and went to check it under My Computer but when I try to open the drive, my computer freezes.
The DVD keeps on freezing my computer. It worked before I started burning, now everytime I try to open it it freezes. Even when I try to use the erase disc feature that Nero 9 has, it won’t work because it won’t read the DVD.

I have my error log report but it’s rather long, so please tell me if you need it. Hopefully someone can explain why the burning process keeps on failing. I’m wasting all of my DVD’s! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks you !

Posting the burn log would be helpful. Put code tags around it, or if you don’t know how to do that, I can add them later.

More information might help us also…such as make and model burner, the operating system you are using, and exactly what you are trying to burn. It sounds like you are using Nero Vision to convert some form of video over to dvd-video format.

If the drive is still giving problems freezing the computer, you might try uninstalling it in Device Manager, then reboot and let the operating system find the hardware again.

Are you using a re-writable disc?

No, they’re brand new discs. I just put them back in after the burning process failed to see if anything was on the CD.

I’m trying to burn a few concerts on a cd. I found a tutorial online that showed an easy way to do it on Nero 9.

OS is Vista. I think this is my model burner.

I can’t seem to post the log file. It’s too long and the browser stops working.
I tried to put it in parts but when I hit submit, it wouldn’t load.

Is there any other way I could show you guys the log file?

Open the log with notepad (or another text editor - not MS Word!), select all, copy, reply to this post and paste. Add “[ code]” to the beginning and “[ /code]” (without the blanks) at the end.

Alternatively, you can let Nero create an ISO image and burn that to disc using ImgBurn. Post the ImgBurn log then.

I tried again but my internet froze. It seems to be way too much stuff for my computer to handle. If I post bits of it it works but when I try to do the entire thing it freezes.

I don’t know if this means anything but it said this in the log file.

[17:52:54] NeroVision 5:52:30 PM	#31 Phase 38 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 274
[17:52:54] NeroVision Burn process failed at 16x (22,160 KB/s)[17:52:54] NeroVision HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
[17:52:54] ExpressUI Burn process failed with status 3
[18:22:55] AMCUIBase Setting 'ENU' as Nero File Dialog language

Unfortunately, this log is not helpful for troubleshooting. You may lower the burn speed - try 8x or 12x instead of 16x.

Please do as suggested previously, and use ImgBurn for the plain burning process. The log is small and could be easily posted here.
