I tried to burn a 2 part AVI movie file and would crash in the middle. Was try'n to burn as DVD Movie.Wasted 3 Ridata DVD-R Discs.Any suggestions?
What software are you using and when is it crashing, during the actual burn? Are you converting it to dvd or burning the avi as a data file?
Nero, newest version.
When is it crashing and how are you trying to burn it (avi as a data file, transcode the avi to dvd format etc)? Does it give an error message?
I don't recall the error message, but I was buring 2 avi files as DVD Format (not data).
Are you sure that it failed while actually burning or is it possible that transcoding failed? Perhaps you should try burning to an image on your hard drive (select image recorder instead of your burner as the destination). If it completes sucessfully, then you can address if thier is a problem with the media. I havent used ridata but have you used it with your burner before or is it new media?
Will post results 2moro.Leaving it to do so over night,... need sleep.
I burned it with the Image to your Hard Drive and it finished. Then tried to burn to it to disc and I got an error "Burn process failed at 12x (16,620 KB/s)"And in the box it says "Cannot write track at correct position with this recorder".
Thats not an error that I recognise. I am guessing that your media is 8x-r (probably ritek g05). Not all media overspeeds well and you were trying to burn it at 12x. What is the medias rated speed? I would try burning it slower (maybe even below its rated speed). If that works, you can either burn at the slower speed or perhaps try diffrent firmware to see if you can find one that supports these disks beter. I have used very little ritek media. Anybody more farmiliar burning ritek on the 3500 have any coments?
I tried all speeds 2x, 4x, 8x, 12x. I made the DVD image file with Nero and burned it with Alcohal 120% and it worked. Thanks for your help.
