Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hi Guys, I’m having a problem with my 1 click copy DVD. It copies fine but when the burning starts it never completes itself. It always end up with a message saying “burning failed do you want to try again” I’ve tried Imation, Verbatim and Maxell DVD-R media with no success. I used the VSOInspector to scan the Disc and they were fine. I’ve tried coping different DVDs and get the same results. I’m using a Memorex DVD -RAM 530L v1 burner and its not even a year old. I’ve disabled the cprx protection and have already tried burning at a 2x speed, but was unsuccessful. Please help.:confused:

A DVD drive is electronic
It can last Several Years
… or last 30 seconds
How old it is - is irrelevant
It either works - or it doesn’t

sorry , but …
It wasn’t that great of a Burner - when it was new
You would have been better off with the Stock Lite-On version of this drive

  • rather than the Memorex re-badge

New 22x DVD Burners are only $30.00+/-

LG // GH22NP20
Samsung 222/223
Pioneer

:wink: $30.00 +/-

Could you please post the 'Complete" Log Session ?

From *** Session Started ****

To  ***** Session Closed ****

Open 1Click  -
[Right Click on the 1Click Interface > Settings Menu ](http://www.dvdjunkies.org/dvdjunkies_007.htm)

>>Set= Your "Preferred Burn Speed" at 1/2 of your Media's rating
ie: IF You're using 16x Media = Set for 8x/12x  ;
8x Media = 4x

>>UN Check= Enable media stats collection - VSO

IF/since   .... you are using -R Media

try :
>>Set= Your "DVD-R Write Mode" at "Prefer DAO(SAO)"

Once you have changed the DVD-R Write Mode Setting
You must Close -and Then Re open 1Click for the setting to be effective ...

- If the "Prefer DAO(SAO)" - is No Help
.... then ..... reset
>>Set= Your "DVD-R Write Mode" at "Prefer Packet Writing"

You must Close -and Then Re open 1Click for the setting to be effective ...

You're using DVD43 as your Decrypter
CPRx must be Enabled

Here’s the Usual …troubleshoots …

Let’s check something …

XP:

Go to > Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties > Auto-Play tab

What do you have selected for the “Action to Perform” for 'DVD Movie" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
OR
Set only for your DVD Player ( WinDVD/Power DVD )

  • be sure to close your ‘Player’ before opening 1Click

What do you have selected for the “Action to Perform” for 'Blank CD" ?
This should be set as “Take no action”

Go to
> Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties
Do you have a "DLA" tab ?
= Disable DLA

Here’s some Help - with maybe … reducing your Computer’s load …

I’d recommend that you Try using EnditALL while Copying/Burning
… to free up your resources
… You might be surprised at what’s running - in the background

Open Advanced SystemCare Free> Utilities > Admin Tools > Start-Up Manager
( it’s completely free and a very recommended clean-up program )

You will be presented with a listing of the Programs

  • Programs that are designated to Start-Up with Windows
  • and Descriptions of Each ( Click on Selection )

Any Start Up Entry - Referring to any DVD/CD Software ?
Windows Media Player ?
ITunes ?

If So = UN Check it

This only Disables the Program - from the List

  • Designated to ‘Start-Up’ - with Windows
    You would - still - be able to ‘manually’ start the Program(s) - when needed

Also …
UN Check anything - Not Trustworthy
UN Check anything - Not Necessary or Not Preferred
( you may later click on an Start-Up item > Select enable - If you prefer )
>> Apply
> Reboot

or -
You could also , Go into Msconfig - and Deselect unneeded Programs

How to use MSCONFIG ?

:slight_smile:

Hi guys, this is what I’ve done in trying to correct this problem. I still can’t burn anything using 1 click copy DVD.

I have unchecked all start ups
I have my auto-play set to take no action on my dvd drive.
On the 1 click copy DVD I have CPRx enabled.
I am burning at 8x and 4x on 16x media
I have installed the newest version of 1 click dvd copy 5.6.0.0
I have unchecked = enable media stats
for writing I have set = prefer DAO(SAO)
for write Mode = prefer packet writing
I have NERO installed and Drag-to-Disc. I can’t erase drag-to-disc from my hard drive. I get this message:
Error 1402. could not open key. unknown/shell new. verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.

then after I click on that window I get this message:
fatal error during installation.

here’s what I got using imgburn:

status program description
protected explorer windows explorer
running ipoint ipoint.exe
running Ctfmon CTF loader
running Iexplore Internet Explorer
running Winword Microsoft Word
protected Enditall End it All

my start ups are as follows:

intellipoint c:/program files/Microsoft intellipoint/ipoint.exe Registry
adobe reader speed launcher c:/program files/adobe/reader 9.0/reader/reader_sl.exe Registry
ctfmon.exe c:/windows/system32/ctfmon.exe Registry

Should I try something else or should I trash this drive and buy another one?

Larry you have DragtoDisc installed which WILL cause you problems with burning. You won’t be able to erase/delete this…you will have to uninstall it, possibly through control panel/add-remove programs. Ifthere is no option to uninstall just dragtodisc then you may have to uninstall the full Sonic/roxio package and then do a custom install to make sure that dragtodisc is not re-installed.

Wow … Bingo …:eek:

You’ve got some 'Problem filters"

Green is No Problem
We’ll leave these be …

Blue is a Probable Problem

RED is BAD
These Programs should be Removed

let’s start with the Bad

FAQ : Can other software conflict with the installation
and operation of 1Click DVD Copy?

Definite Problems : These Programs -Must- Go …

You have DragtoDisc

It needs to be REMOVED

To Remove DragtoDisc

>> Go to >
> Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

> Look for a Listing for DragtoDisc
If Found > Select Remove > Reboot

If not separate listing for DragtoDisc :

>> Find the listing for Roxio ( or Sonic )
> Select Change
Select the DragtoDisc Sub-Component > Select Uninstall
>> Reboot

Let me know - if you need help finding the DragtoDisc program
We can simply delete the Filters - if it comes to that , but …
It is better - to actually find and remove them with offending program

Only If unable to find a way to remove DragtoDisc
You may Delete the Filters
First Back-up your Registry

Open IMGBurn
Go to > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order

Click on the filter listing for = Filter Name: Cdralw2k - To Select
>> Press = Remove Selected Filter

Click on the filter listing for = Filter Name: Cdr4_xp - To Select
>> Press = Remove Selected Filter

Click on the filter listing for = Filter Name: pwd_2k
- To Select
>> Press = Remove Selected Filter

> Press = OK

> Reboot and Repost your filters Report

Possible Issues ; Not Probable :
You should be Alright
As long as the Program using these Filters
- Is not Running and Disabled from Windows 'Start-Up'

Leave these for now .....

Filter Name: GEARAspiWDM
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\GEARAspiWDM.sys

Be sure that ITunes is Disabled from Windows Start-Up

```````````````
Clone CD is Not a problem
But you don't need it to be  Starting with Windows
Be sure that the  CloneCD sys tray -
- and any other DVD/CD Programs  ( except DVD43 )
are  Disabled from Windows start-up
You can manually open CloneCD anytime  you need it
Open [Advanced SystemCare Free](http://www.iobit.com/AdvancedWindowsCarePersonal/index.html)> Utilities  > Admin Tools > Start-Up Manager
( it's completely free and a very recommended clean-up program )
You will be presented with a listing of the Programs
- Programs that  are designated to Start-Up with Windows
- and Descriptions of Each ( Click on Selection )
Any  Start Up Entry - Referring to any DVD/CD Software ?
Windows Media Player ?
ITunes ?
If So = UN Check  it
This only Disables  the Program - from the List
- Designated to 'Start-Up' - with Windows
You would - still - be able to 'manually' start the Program(s) - when needed
Also ......
UN Check  anything - Not Trustworthy
UN Check  anything - Not Necessary or Not Preferred
( you may  later click on an Start-Up item > Check to re- enable  - If you prefer )
>> Apply
> Reboot
or  -
You could  also , Go into Msconfig - and Deselect unneeded Programs
- from your 'Start Up"
This will help a lot .....
