Burning a CD which executes an app when it's inserted

Hi people!

I’m newbie in CD/DVD burning.

A lot of comercial CD’s execute an application automatically when it’s inserted to the drive. So that’s what I want to get. Imagine I have a program, myprogram.exe, and I want to burn a CD which executes this program when I insert the CD to the drive.

How can I get it?

Hi reform01, welcome to CDFreaks!

You need to create an Autorun.inf file in the top-level folder on the CD/DVD and configure the Autorun.inf file to run your program.

Be careful about starting programs this way - you or the person inserting the CD may not always want the program to run automatically.

thanks!

I will read more about the autorun.inf file.

Bye!

Even with autorun there’s no guarantee it will run. If you hold down the ‘Shift’ key as the disk loads it won’t run. You can also turn off autorun for your drive, as I have.

Same here - automatically running anything on randomly inserted CDs and DVDs is not my idea of a secure system.
