any sugestions??

#3

There are software accessing to the disc while you are burning? For example an antivirus scan, a defragger running in the background, or maybe a torrent/emule software?

All these things can slow down the system and cause buffer emptying

#4

this is with everthing turned off that i could turn off. the only thing running was vnc

it seemed to get worse… is this a hardware problem? burner problem? software problem?

The media is not the very best, but a crappy media has no influence in HDD speed…

It seems that there is still something that prevents the HDD to provide data to the burner fast enough.

Can you run a speed test of all your HDDs? You can use the free version of HDTune (no installation is required, it is a portable software).

#6

The media is crap and the culprint too.

#7

it does the same thing with verbatim i just didnt want to waste 2$ per disk media playing around…

Get HDTune as was suggested and see if your HD’s speeds are right.

#9

You should defrag your harddisks.

#10

this is the drive the files are on

Analysis is complete for: New Volume (D: )
You do not need to defragment this volume

E: is currently being defragmented and i will post back when done

#11

it seems to be fixed here is what i did

new firmware on the burner, new chipset driver for the mobo, new sata controller driver, defraged all drives…

Good
