Burner reads crd's verrrry slowly

Help! Please! My liteon 24/10/40 cdr takes forever to read a home burned cdr. It reads store bought cd’s, games etc just fine, but when asked to read a data backup CD it spins up then slows down over and over again and the hard drive lite stays on for minutes! Eventually it will read the Directory and eventually it will read the data. I had done some drive changes (added second HD and regular 40x reader) and additions sometime before I noticed this new problem. Any IDEAS?

Any Help would be appreciated!

The media is crap or defective - this happens when the reader is trying to read data but has major problems getting it off the cdr.

I only use Fugi 24x cdr’s and they read fine on my laptop…

Any more ideas?
